ABOUT THE COFFEE:
A complex Kenyan microlot that tastes of sugary plum, chocolate, and a hint of lemon with a sweet finish. The Coffee Bros. Kenya Gachatha is named after the smallholder farmer cooperative which this coffee derives from, “Gachatha Farmer Cooperative Society”. Gachatha factory is operated by the Gachatha Farmers Cooperative Society and sits on 391 acres between the villages of Muthuaini, Thiriku, Gachenge, and Kianjau. It was built in 1963, and its current membership is about 1,050, with roughly 900 active members.
This coffees is from the famous SL-28 and SL-34 varietals which tend to have unmatched sweetness with a dynamic flavor profile. SL-28 is among the most well-known and well-regarded varieties of Africa. It has consequently spread from Kenya, where it was originally selected in the 1930s, to other parts of Africa and now to Latin America.
This coffee shines with its sweet plum flavor, heavier mouthfeel, and cola-like characteristics. This coffee is very limited in quantity so take advantage of this unique microlot while it is still available.
